Golden Leaves becomes FCA regulated Funeral Plan provider.

We are proud to announce we have achieved FCA regulation as the new industry ruling comes into force.

As of today, 29th July 2022, all funeral plan providers must be regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority to sell or administer a funeral plan.

Just one of only a handful providers to achieve regulation, Golden Leaves is arguably the UK’s longest standing independent funeral plan provider and has always adhered to standards of excellence.

In 2001, it played a fundamental role in driving industry standards for the benefit of consumers in being at the forefront of developing the FPA [Funeral Planning Authority] and in December 2020, Golden Leaves became the only firm within the funeral planning industry to secure the BSI Customer Service Kitemark Accreditation.

Discussing the new regulation, Barry Floyd, CEO of Golden Leaves, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have achieved FCA regulation and to be officially acknowledged for our commitment to serving all our customers to the highest possible standards.

Following an extensive and rigorous assessment period, we have ultimate respect for all our competitors who have also been approved and, without exception, consumers should feel both confident and comfortable with these businesses.

We now look forward to this next chapter in the funeral planning industry and feel confident that the new FCA regulation will bring about positive change for the sector and consumers alike.”

Established in the 1980s by a highly regarded family of funeral directors in South London, Golden Leaves was the first independent funeral planning company to launch a Guaranteed Cremation Funeral Plan to market, which freezes the cost of a funeral regardless of when the plan was purchased while ensuring the next of kin have nothing further to pay.

Forward-thinking in its approach, Golden Leaves plans to unveil a new funeral plan in the coming weeks that will reduce the financial burden on consumers.
